Everyone should be treated right!"

Sherley Xu Wetherhold author and illustrator of My Trilingual Book is probably The World's Youngest Published Translator.

At age 2, Sherley spoke Chinese with her mother, English with her father, and Cantonese with her babysitter. Her family made a videotape of her skills, entitled it A Little Girl Talks About Her Two Homes - American and China, and mailed it to the media.

At age 5, Sherely was a guest speaker on CC-TV in Shanghai.

At age 6, she began studying Spanish and was invited to The 1999 Kids World - International Children's Festival in Beijing, where she promoted her video stories My Bilingual Journey.

At age 7, she wrote and illustrated her trilingual book of easy words and sentences in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, with help from her mother.

At age 8, the book and accompanying audio cassette was published in China. Sherely autographed copies at Beijing's largest bookstore and received TV coverage.

When asked how she got to be so brilliant, she replies, "It's in the genes." She smiles then adds, "I practice a lot!"

but if you set a goal of writing

soon the book will be done."

Tutankhamen (too-tonk-AH-men) became king at age 8 and reigned for 10 years. He died at age 18 and left behind an underground tomb filled with one of the greatest royal treasures the world has ever known. It contained over 5,000 items, many of which were made of gold and decorated with semiprecious stones. There were also many things the young king would need in the "afterlife" such as board games, garden seeds, and underwear. Pictured here is the gold portrait mask that was placed over his mummy, and is now on display at the Cairo Museum in Egypt. The expedition that uncovered the tomb was lead by Howard Carter in the 1920's and has taught the world a great deal about ancient Egyptian history.
