"Arjun Ayyangar is able to transpose many of his over one hundred memorized selections to any key. He is a budding composer, creating quite a sensation with his works. His piece, "The Happy Song", created a very positive audience ovation at the 2003 International Music Festival in Ohio. He received a standing ovation for his performance of the Haydn D Major Concerto with the Cleveland Orchestra," explains Dr. Ray Landers, Arjun's piano teacher. Arjun has won the top prize of High Honors Award Certificate in his age group in Young Artists' Competition conducted by New Jersey Music Teachers Association. He was featured at Empower the Children's "A Touch of India" fund-raising festival to help Calcutta orphanages. He was among the very few selected to perform in NBC's premiere prime time series "America's Most Talented Kids". He's performed in Philadelphia's Kimmel center and in The War Memorial Auditorium in Trenton, both UNICEF fund-raiser events sponsored by Steinway and Sons. Recommendations initiated by The Kids Hall of Fame resulted in Arjun's performance on Animal Planet TV channel's "Most Extreme: Tough Babies" episode and during the halftime program of the New York Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Arjun averages a couple of public performances each month with includes recitals with other students of Dr. Landers, Suzuki workshops, competition winners performances, and charity fundraisers. Arjun will be performing at The Kids Hall of Fame Inaugural Induction & Inductee Exhibit in October 2005. Arjun Ayyangar's Advice"Do what you say. If you won't do it, then do not say it. When Ryan Fordiani learned he had Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes and would have to make great changes in his life, he took it all in stride. He also made it a personal mission to help others. Six months after being diagnosed, he raised over $900 for the Walk For A Cure by selling $1 sneaker cards door-to-door and by spending weekends in front of local businesses asking for donations. With his mother's help, he wrote a letter to the National Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation explaining why Congress needs to provide more funding for the cause. Ryan Fordian says, "I really want a cure. I don't like being afraid of getting really, really sick again. I don't want Mommy and Daddy worried all the time." As a result of his letter, Ryan was selected as a delegate to the Children's Congress. Due to his efforts and concern for others more than for himself, Ryan won the "Do the Right Thing" Student of the Month Award from the Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida.Story by Trish RouttePhoto by Sgt. Before he was age 2, Georgie Pocheptsov drew detailed pictures of nearly everything he saw. At 2, he drew portraits, from memory, of his grandparents whom he hadn't seen in months. At 3, one of his drawings was published in a book. At 4, the first large painting he sold was purchased for $400. At age 5, a museum wanted to purchase much of his work. At age 6, Georgie held his first art show, with sales totaling over $227,000. He was dubbed "Little Picasso," and many people signed an 18-month waiting list to purchase his future work. Georgie Pocheptsov's Advice"Keep on trying. Never give up."Read more about Georgieas a 9-Year-Old Nominee.Photo by Dubrava PocheptsovaPreviously Spotlighted 6-Year-Old InducteesWolfgang Mozart: MusicianNicholas Panagakos: CyclistHonorable MentionMichael Natale: Letter Writer
