MUSICIAN: DRUMMER

Julian Pavone kept the rhythm of songs and executed drum rolls. He would play the drums for as long as one hour at a time. Lisa, Julian’s mother, explains, “He played as much as two hours a day. He’d ask to play the drums. He just enjoyed it.”

At 15 months, Julian auditioned with the Cleveland Cavaliers Drum Line. Its founder, William Winfield III, offered Julian a contract, which immediately made Julian its youngest member. All other members were 16 years old or older. Four months later, Julian performed with the group during a Cavaliers game halftime show in front of 20,000 people.

At 19 months, Julian recorded his first CD, Go Baby!, on the Peacock Records label, with legendary bassist Ralphe Armstrong, Winfield and Dante Falgiani, on guitar, playing along.
