Alec Urbach made his Carnegie Recital Hall debut, performing two solo works by Saint Saens: The Allegro Appasionato and The Swan. The recital was a benefit for Beth Israel Medical Center’s Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery (The I.N.N.). The concert was produced by Children Helping Children, a musical charity organization that fund raises for the pediatric departments of New York area hospitals, of which Alec is a founding member. He has performed in two benefit concerts for the I.N.N. that raised thousands of dollars for hospitalized children. Performing works of charity is as important to Alec as performing works of music.

Alec, who had his solo debut at Steinway Hall in Manhattan, at age 5, has been accepted into The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, due to his national scores. He hopes to be a heart surgeon and a professional cellist when he gets older, but is excited to see what “good” he can do at a young age.
