Robbie Bond spoke to a crowd of over 7,000 people in front of the Utah State Capitol Building. Robbie, who is on a mission to save America’s parks and monuments for future generations, informed the crowd of the importance of preserving the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah. It is a 1.35 million acre protected area, which President Barack Obama proclaimed a national monument on December 28, 2016.

Robbie was inspired to act when he learned that President Trump signed an executive order calling for the review of 27 national monuments. Robbie knew he had to do something, so he founded Kids Speak for Parks, a non-profit to educate and mobilize kids to stand together to defend America’s parks.

Robbie and his parents set out to visit the 27 sites under review, so he would know, and be able to tell others, what was at stake if the designated national monuments were rescinded.
