Steven Ferreiro, who, at age 16, founded the non-profit Helping Others And Giving Hope, established two partnerships that created the Farm Share Food Distribution Event. It assisted the communities most needy need during the covid-19 pandemic. The partners were City of Miami Commissioner Manolo Reyes and Farm Share Food Distribution, a non-profit organization. Collaboratively they provide approximately 500 families with about 25 pounds each of non-perishable food.

Steven explained, “After seeing the stress that this global pandemic has caused to those who have lost their jobs and the community around the world, I felt like this was the proper event to host for those going through difficult times. I have seen the need in our community firsthand while volunteering with other local groups during these rough times. This seemed as a great opportunity for me to give back to my community as I love to do. My hope is that this will alleviate their personal situation a little bit and provide them with some hope.”
